THE MISSION: TeachM::bile Community Microschoolsⓒ aims to equip autonomous students and their families to excel in critical thinking skills, business sense, community welfare and influential decision-making in a dynamic world.

The Beliefs:    

TeachM::bile Community Microschoolsⓒ believes in goals. With organized infrastructure in place, we teach each student to have a daily goal and to enjoy reaching their goals. While we have textbooks, each student actively and autonomously follows the Alabama State Standards, sometimes not in order. They can work in groups, too!

 

TeachM::bile Community Microschoolsⓒ believes in the power of positivity to influence advanced academic development. For this reason, we invest much time and energy in nurturing an atmosphere that celebrates discovery and accomplishment. Our students work for rewards and praise. Our grading system reflects the percentage of completion. We encourage each student to complete at least 90% of the material. Like the adult world of business, we reward our top performers on completion rates. 

 

TeachM::bile Community Microschoolsⓒ believes that critical thinking is the most positive educational outcome. While we give formal and standardized tests, it’s important to note that projects, presentations and portfolios are better indicators of understanding. We believe that formal examinations are important, however, presentations and projects better represent what is typically expected in adult life. 

TeachM::bile Community Microschoolsⓒ believes that religion is sacred. We do not promote or demote religion. We encourage all students to interact with people who have different cultures,  beliefs and religious views without wanting to evangelize. We often forbid the discussion of religion until the atmosphere on campus feels calm, at which time the MasterTeacher may allow and lead an unbiased discussion that grows a deeper understanding for the student body. The ultimate goal would be for our student body to listen to understand. We hope that together, we can accomplish this.
